With today’s technology, we have a ton of information about weather. Some people like to have as much information as possible, while others prefer their weather updates streamlined. Whatever your preference may be, here in South Louisiana we are responsible for being alert and safe when it comes to Hurricane Season. Below are a few weather resources you may want to keep handy.

 

Martin Folse and his team provide local, up-to-date hurricane coverage. This live-stream coverage contains information before, during, and after the storms.

The National Hurricane Center’s Hurricane Specialist Unit issues forecasts and warnings on tropical cyclones, and maintains a continuous watch on areas of disturbed weather that have the potential to develop into a tropical cyclone within the North Atlantic and eastern North Pacific Ocean basins. The NHC’s Tropical Analysis and Forecast Branch generates analyses and forecasts of weather over the tropical Atlantic and eastern North Pacific Ocean basins year-round.

WeatherBug has current and extended local and national weather forecasts, news, temperature, live radar, lightning, hurricane alerts and more.

The Weather Channel and weather.com provide a national and local weather forecast for cities, as well as weather radar, report and hurricane coverage.
