The month of November is all about celebrating the achievements and contributions made by Native Americans. The observation began in 1915 as a day long celebration and over the 20th century it grew in depth, breadth, and length. In 1990, George H. W. Bush designated November “National American Indian Heritage Month.” Although the name has undergone some changes every year, November continues to be the month that we celebrate the First Peoples.
