Animals of Louisiana: Children’s Book Recommendations
Summer reading this year is all about Tails and Tales and so we are loving all the animal books that we get to read. In this blog I want to highlight all the awesome books we have at our library that tell the stories of the critters that live along side us in Louisiana. From frogs and alligators, to pelicans and possums, there is an animal book out there for everyone!
If you haven’t signed up to particiapte in the library’s Summer Reading program, be sure to sign up today at mytpl.org/srp or stop by any of our nine library branches. This year’s challenge will have you reading at least 20 minutes a day in your library books. For every five days that you do that, you complete a level.
All readers who complete the first level will receive a certificate, a brag tag, an “I Love My Library” yard sign, and a chance to win a big prize. Kindergarteners to 6th graders will have a chance to win a bicycle and helmet (courtesy of the Friends of the Terrebonne Public Library and the Kiwanis Club) and 7th graders to adults will have a chance to win a Kindle Fire Tablet. For every level completed after the first, readers will receive another brag tag and another raffle entry.
Be sure to have all your reading logged by July 31st in order to be included in the raffles!
