Books for the bayou

Read local and shop local at the Terrebonne Parish Public Library Books for the Bayou 2025 event on

Saturday, November 22
from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Main Library

Book lovers across the parish are invited to come meet local authors, buy books locally, and find your newest reading obsession while supporting writers in the community! Refreshments will be served, and entrance is free to the public.

If you are a local author and are interested in promoting and selling your books at the event, please register using the form below or click here. The application does not guarantee approval, and a Library representative will reach out to applicants with their decision.

Spaces are limited, so register as soon as possible! Registration closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024. This program is free to attend and open to the public.

Author responsibilities and restrictions for the event: 

  • Must have published a book within the past 3 years. Content of book must be appropriate by library standards.
  • Must provide 4-week advance notice of participation to be included in library promotion.
  • May bring table place or name card and decorations.
  • Must accept responsibility for protecting and securing personal items, book inventory, and money collected from sales.
  • Must accept responsibility for bringing own books to sell. Past publications may be sold alongside new publications.
  • Must provide own start-up money for giving change.
  • Must declare any sale of books with the Louisiana State Revenue Department
