How to Access Periodicals and Magazines Through EBSCO Databases
From the “I didn’t know you could do that” files
Accessing periodicals and magazines from the EBSCHO databases is best done on a laptop or desktop computer. Open your web browser and type “mytpl.org” into the address bar to arrive at the library’s website.
From there, click “Research” on the second horizontal menu on the right of the web page.
On this web page, click “Database by name.”
Next, click “Academic Search Complete.” This will take you to the database.
Click “Publications” in the upper left corner horizontal menu.
On the Publications Page, use the SECOND search bar from the top to enter your query.
This image shows a result for “Library Journal.” Click on the best search result that matches your query.
After selecting the magazine of interest, a detailed record will be provided with back issues divided by year. Click on an issue to read the magazine.
The database displays the magazine articles in the issue as search results with a full APA citation for each article. Articles can be read in HTML format or a PDF of how they originally appeared in the magazine.
