Three Magical Harry Potter Treats

Harry Potter is a magical world created by J.K. Rowling full of wizards, creatures, and adventure. The people aren’t the only magical thing in the fictional world. There are plenty of fantastical treats from Harry Potter that you can make at home.

1-2-3 Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch Bonbons for Kids

This delicious dessert is one only found in Honeydukes, the local sweets shop from Hogsmeade outside of Hogwarts. Harry snuck in through the cellar to try some of the tasty treats in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. These bonbons have a creamy peanut butter center and a crunchy chocolate coating.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 ½ cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crisp rice cereal
  • 10 ounces milk chocolate, melted, for coating

Lemon Drops

The sweet candies are a personal favorite muggle treat of Professor Dumbledore. He even has the password to his quarters set as “lemon drop” in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. These small candies have a bit of both sweet and sour to them.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract

Pumpkin Pastie

These tasty pastries are a classic treat from the snacks witch on the Hogwarts Express. They are small hand pastries with a pumpkin filling and a flakey crust. Harry first tries them in the first book of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Ingredients:

Pastry Crust-

  • 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons cold butter, cut into chunks
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable shortening, chilled and cut into chunks
  • 4-6 tablespoons ice water

Filling-

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
