Readings in Literature and Culture (RELIC): Who Gets to Vote 

Join Dr. Stuart Tully from Nicholls State University for this discussion series on the history of voting in the United States. The conversation will revolve around the historical significance of the Women’s Suffrage Movement, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, voter suppression, and more.

“Who Gets to Vote” will be held in the DE Room on the second floor of the Main Library. Dates and times are as follows:

August 29 – Vanguard: How Black Women Broke Barriers, Won the Vote, and Insisted on Equality for All by Martha S. Jones 

September 12 – Let My People Vote: My Battle to Restore the Civil Rights of Returning Citizens by Desmond Meade 

September 26 – The Woman’s Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote by Elaine Weiss
